Privacy policy
Your privacy, respected
What FastFin collects, how it's used, and the choices you have, in plain language. Last updated: January 2026.
FastFin (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs this website to provide educational content about financial technology. We care about privacy, and because we write about digital money and security, we hold ourselves to a high standard. This page explains our practices in plain language. By using the site, you agree to the terms below.
Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Information you provide. If you contact us, we receive the details you send, such as your name, email address and message.
- Automatic technical data. Standard details most sites log, browser type, device, approximate location and the pages you visit, which help us keep the site working and understand what's useful.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files that help the site function and help us and our partners understand usage. See below.
We do not ask for, want, or knowingly collect sensitive financial credentials. Please never send us passwords, PINs, one-time codes or full account numbers.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve the website and its content;
- To respond to your messages and requests;
- To understand which topics help readers, so we can create more;
- To keep the site secure and prevent misuse;
- To display relevant advertising, where applicable (see below).
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only where necessary to run the site, comply with the law, or with service providers who help us operate, under appropriate safeguards.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them to remember preferences, measure traffic and, where applicable, support advertising. Broadly they fall into essential cookies that make the site work, analytics cookies that help us understand usage in aggregate, and advertising cookies that support relevant ads. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, though blocking some may affect how parts of the site work. Where the law requires it, we'll ask consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Advertising
This website may display advertising to support our free content. Advertising partners and networks may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads more relevant to you and to measure their performance. These third-party networks may collect information such as your device type, general location and interactions with ads, in line with their own privacy policies. Where required, we'll seek your consent before non-essential advertising cookies are set. You can usually opt out of personalised ads through your device or browser settings, or via the ad-choices controls offered by the networks. Opting out doesn't remove ads, it just makes them less tailored.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site, which pages are read most and how people navigate, so we can improve. This is generally handled in a way that does not personally identify you.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep the information we hold safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security. This is exactly why we ask you never to send sensitive financial credentials through the contact form or email, those channels aren't built for confidential data.
Third-party links
We keep outbound links to a minimum, but where one appears, note that we're not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other sites. Please read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law. Messages you send are kept so we can respond and maintain a record, then deleted when no longer needed.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, to access, correct or delete it, or to object to certain processing. You may be able to request a copy of what we hold, ask us to fix inaccuracies, ask us to delete information where there's no good reason to keep it, or object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we'll respond in line with applicable law. We won't charge for a reasonable request.
International visitors
FastFin may be accessed worldwide. If you visit from a region with different data-protection laws than where our services operate, your information may be processed in another country. Wherever it's handled, we apply the standards in this policy.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Please review it periodically.
